Role Value Proposition:
The Benefits Leave Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of the company’s various leave of absence programs while ensuring compliance with related state and federal regulations. A full understanding of all leave plans, policies and processes is critical to the success of this position.
Administers daily leave of absence programs including; Short- and Long-Term Disability leave, Military leave, FMLA leave, Non-FMLA leave, Parental leave, State sponsored leave, and Personal leaves of absence. Support the ADA and job accommodation function.
Maintains employee leave and updates employee records in CORE
Keeps track of payroll deadlines for leaves – intermittent FMLA, residual hours
Communicates information to employees regarding overpayments during leave and submits to payroll for processing.
Provide innovative ideas that can support the ongoing growth of the Leave Department
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations
Prioritize and organize daily responsibilities to meet all deadlines
Partner with local manager to provide guidance and support with regards to leave policies/practices and ensure adherence to these policies. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Must have a minimum of 3-5+ years of related benefits and/or employee leave administration experience
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Knowledge of laws and regulations that are related to employee benefits
Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems (ADP) preferred.
Excellent communication and organization skills
Must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work autonomously; effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible.
Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development.
