MetLife Benefits Leave Administrator in Jacksonville, Florida

Role Value Proposition:

The Benefits Leave Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of the company’s various leave of absence programs while ensuring compliance with related state and federal regulations. A full understanding of all leave plans, policies and processes is critical to the success of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers daily leave of absence programs including; Short- and Long-Term Disability leave, Military leave, FMLA leave, Non-FMLA leave, Parental leave, State sponsored leave, and Personal leaves of absence. Support the ADA and job accommodation function.

  • Maintains employee leave and updates employee records in CORE

  • Keeps track of payroll deadlines for leaves – intermittent FMLA, residual hours

  • Communicates information to employees regarding overpayments during leave and submits to payroll for processing.

  • Provide innovative ideas that can support the ongoing growth of the Leave Department

  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations

  • Prioritize and organize daily responsibilities to meet all deadlines

  • Partner with local manager to provide guidance and support with regards to leave policies/practices and ensure adherence to these policies. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Must have a minimum of 3-5+ years of related benefits and/or employee leave administration experience

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations that are related to employee benefits

  • Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems (ADP) preferred.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work autonomously; effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible.

  • Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development.
