MetLife Data Governance Office (MDGO)
The MetLife Data Governance Office (MDGO) is part of the Data and Analytics Organization (DnA) within GTO. Our mission is toimplement an enterprise-wide model for the governance of data at MetLife to ensure consistency of usage and a high level of confidence in data driven analytics and decision-making capabilities. To achieve this, we arepartnering with other Data and Analytics (DnA) teams, Technology, and our business and functional partners to build and deploy the next generation data capabilities for MetLife.
MDGO Data Governance Technical Data Steward
We are looking for an MDGO Data Governance Technical Data Steward with a track record of supporting enterprise data management tools and integration projects. The ideal candidate would have a solid foundation in hands-on technical solutions architecting supporting Data Governance (DG) and Data Quality (DQ) tools. To be successful in this role, the candidate would require a balance of product-centric technical expertise, and a deep knowledge of DG practices, which includes but not limited to metadata management, metamodeling, lineage documentation, data stewardship, and technical DQ processes. This role requires interaction with technical staff and senior business and IT partners around the world as well as peer program stakeholders (Privacy, InfoSec, ILM, etc.) This role would also include engagement and involvement with multiple concurrent teams and projects.
This position will work closely with the Data Governance teams as well as other stakeholders in the US as well as globally.
Key Responsibilities:
Support data governance engagements to create rhythm for on-going support, maturity, and metrics reporting.
Design and develop solutions to support scaling of enterprise capabilities which includes but not limited to autoclassification, lineage and data quality processes.
Work with the Data Governance team and business partners to research and proffer technical solutions to data and systems integration opportunities.
Collate requirements for projects from the perspective of Data Governance team and participate in overall project implementation.
Support data governance tooling project, business metadata management and documentation.
Appetite to learn new technologies and be inclined to innovate.
Interact with business analysts and functional analysts in requirements gathering and implementation.
Collaborate with the extended project team on compiling proposals including high level technical solution, estimate and implementation plan.
Provide technical support to project teams throughout project lifecycle around technology platforms, solution design, security, profiling, performance tuning, etc.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
5+ years’ experience in enterprise-wide implementation of Data Governance, Data Quality or Data Management programs.
Demonstrated experience in providing technical support for Data Governance processes in either financial or insurance company setting.
Strong project management skills. Experience working enterprise complex large scale, multi-team, programs in agile development methodologies.
Eagerness to learn new technologies on the fly and ship to production.
Experience in Solution Design & Architecting, and systems integration.
Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
Preferred:
Working knowledge of English
Strong technical program management skills.
Experience with Collibra, Ataccama, EDC, IDQ and other Data Management tools.
Expertise in Python and experience writing Azure functions using Python/Node.js.
Experience in ADLS, Synapse SQL database or GCP Big Query and GCS management and Performance tuning - Partitioning / Bucketing.
The wage range for this role is $99,300 - $132,400.
