Role Value Proposition:

MetLife is seeking a Sr Business Procedures Consultant to join our Retirement and Income Solutions, Business Solutions team. This role will have significant interactions with business partners, vendors and technology teams. In this role, you will be responsible for multiple activities related to Operational Readiness, including leading or participating in Agile teams, conducting analysis and providing guidance on processes and procedures, documenting business process/ Standard Operating Procedures, assist with preparation of Features, User Stories, Test Cases and Acceptance Criteria, among others. You will also work closely with team members, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and stakeholders to support Sprint and Release Planning, foster team self-awareness, encourage cross-training, decision-making and continuous improvement to enable high-performing teams. Additional responsibilities would include participating in daily collaboration activities with the Agile team, facilitating key Agile ceremonies while applying and enhancing SAFe Agile frameworks to help teams adopt and establish an agile mindset, support.

The resolution of open issues and escalate critical issues. Responsible for determining functional requirements for data solutions, dashboards, and standing up operational processes to support data needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments, be organized and efficient while working under minimal supervision.

  • Ability to lead and motivate project team members that are not direct reports.

  • Partners closely with the Product Team to evaluate the existing solutions as well as participate in the creative process for future new product/process development initiatives. The right candidate must have the mental flexibility to pivot as business needs change & strategic priorities and projects are realigned.

  • Participate in scrum teams in moderate complexity workstreams, including preparation of Features, User Stories, Test Cases and Acceptance Criteria.

  • Participate in daily standups, iteration reviews and iteration planning ceremonies to ensure full team engagement.

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner or Manager to support short and long-term release planning, while maintaining a healthy team backlog ready for execution.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and MetLife policies, including but not limited to areas of finance, privacy, and security.

  • Contribute to and oversee the successful implementation of all Operational Readiness phases of the process including preparation of communication plan, process documentation, training material, test plans and value-stream mapping.

  • Escalate issues and proposes solutions in a timely fashion.

  • Ability to assist business teams with defining and ascribing value and prioritization.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline.

  • Related experience with Agile, with strong knowledge of Agile principles, concepts, and methodology.

  • Advanced presentation, influencing, facilitation and relationship management skills.

  • Comfortable discussing business functions, operations, strategies, and objectives.

  • Thorough knowledge of business functions and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies, and objectives, and able to assist in advising Product Owner.

  • Related experience with User story writing and Acceptance Criteria.

  • Ability to think critically and use data to drive decision making.

  • Moderately complex decision-making abilities.

  • Advanced reporting skills with Alteryx, Power BI, Cognos, Qlik.

  • Experience assisting in the development of software, assisting in the setup of computer software, and organizing and conducting training on how to use the software.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Visio and Azure DevOps collaboration tool

  • Ability to influence reporting shift from waterfall to Agile metrics.

  • Operational Readiness experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.

  • Experience leading trainings and workshops.

  • Related experience with Journey Maps, Story Maps, and Value Stream Mapping.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $103,100 to $137,400. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
